Transport Panel
From Renoise User Manual
Transport Panel
The Transport Panel allows you to control song playback and alter other relevant global options. When the upper frame of the interface is hidden (see Main Screen), the Transport Panel controls will still be usable, as they are collapsed into a small horizontal bar just below the Upper Status Bar.

- File:Vvoois renoise pc mastervolume.png - Master Volume. This slider corresponds to the volume of the Master Track and so controls the overall volume of the song.
- File:Vvoois renoise pc autoadjust volume.png - Auto adjust the Master Volume level to avoid clipping (the volume is automatically lowered when clipping occurs).
- File:Vvoois renoise pc play.png / File:Vvoois renoise pc play active.png - Start playing the song or pattern.
- File:Vvoois renoise pc loop.png / File:Vvoois renoise pc loop active.png - Toggle pattern looping, which constantly repeats current pattern.
- File:Vvoois renoise pc stop.png / File:Vvoois renoise pc stop active.png - Stop song/pattern playback. Click twice or right-click to activate Panic: stopping all sounds immediately.
- File:Vvoois renoise pc record.png / File:Vvoois renoise pc record active.png - Toggle Edit/Record Mode. With Edit Mode enabled, all notes played via the keyboard are recorded into the pattern. Notes can be recorded while the song is stopped or as the song/pattern is playing (if Pattern Follow is on).
- File:Vvoois renoise pc pattern follow.png / File:Vvoois renoise pc pattern follow active.png - Toggle Pattern Follow mode. When enabled, as the song plays, the cursor will follow the playback position down the pattern, allowing you to record "live". When disabled, you can freely edit the song while playing, inserting notes wherever you like via the cursor (most useful with pattern looping on).
- File:Vvoois renoise pc metro.png / File:Vvoois renoise pc metro active.png - Toggle the metronome (extra metronome options are available in the Preferences menu)
- Block Loop - When enabled, a fraction of the current pattern will be looped, independently from the pattern loop option. This is very useful to run and edit in small blocks through the patterns. Edit it step by step to construct a pattern. Then construct a song out of multiple patterns. The number of the right is the fraction (how much of the pattern should be looped)
- Beats / Min. - The current tempo of the song. Exact values (like 125.5) can be entered, used as well. To enter them double click the BPM value, then enter the new BPM value with the keyboard. To automate the tempo you can use the Pattern Effects F0XX where XX is the new BPM in hex. See Pattern Effects for more info about this.
- Lines / Beat. - Renoises pattern line resolution: How man lines make a a musical beat. The higher the LPB, the more lines you will have in the pattern editor to edit notes and effects, the faster the pattern scrolls. Just like tempo, this can be automated as will with the Pattern Effect F1XX where XX is the new LPB value.
- Keyb. Octave - The current octave settings of the virtual computer keyboard piano and for external master keyboards. The higher the octave settings, the higher the notes on the keyboard will be played back and recorded. Please see Playing Notes with the Computer Keyboard for more info about the virtual computer keyboard piano.
